01 · THE PROBLEM

Information spread across forms and handwritten lists.

A furniture consignment retailer handled incoming items through an online form, handwritten lists and manual entry into inventory software. Staff needed enough detail to decide whether to accept each item.

The brief was to collect useful information earlier, reduce repeated entry and make reviews easier, while keeping acceptance decisions with staff.

02 · THE APPROACH

Collect the details staff need to decide.

We designed the submission form around the item’s description, condition and photographs, with a staff dashboard to review the information together.

The proposed checks would flag unclear photos or a mismatch between the images and description. Future rules could draw on past decisions; staff would still make the final call.

03 · THE PROTOTYPE

A customer form and staff dashboard to try.

The browser demo covered photo and item submissions, an eligibility-check step and the staff review dashboard. The business could explore both the customer and staff experience.

Submissions were stored locally in the browser. AI assessments used preloaded examples to show how suggestions could appear alongside an item. The demo did not run live AI analysis.

04 · WHAT WAS DELIVERED

An interactive prototype and implementation plan.

The deliverables were the customer submission form, staff review dashboard and a plan for implementation. Together, they provided a way to review the proposed process before a production build.

This was a prototype. Production performance and business impact were not measured.

05 · THE NEXT STAGE

What a production build would need.

The proposed next stage would connect accepted items to payout estimates, agreements and booking. AI-assisted valuations would be advisory, with staff making the final decision.

Photo checks and rules based on past decisions would need testing with real submissions. Inventory and customer-management integrations were planned for later phases. Handling time and manual entry would need a baseline before any improvement could be measured.
